Barbara Rhoades played Aretha, Uncle Arthur's haughty girlfriend, on Bewitched. In 1976, she played Dinah Nichols in the original "Tabatha Pilot".


Barbara Rhoades is an American actress, known primarily for her comedy and mystery roles. She was born on March 23, 1946, in Poughkeepsie, New York.

An assertive, statuesque, voluptuous redhead, she was contracted by Universal as a late 1960s starlet. She is best known for playing the plucky lady bandit Penelope ("Bad Penny") Cushings opposite queasy, milquetoast Don Knotts in his comedy vehicle, The Shakiest Gun in the West (1968).

Rhoades began acting in the late 1960s, appearing in guest roles on several television series. She was a regular cast member of the 1977 situation comedy "Busting Loose", portraying Melody Feebeck, and in 1989, as Jessica Gardner on "Generations".

In 2011, she had a recurring role on the American soap opera One Life to Live as Irene Manning, childhood best friend of Victoria Lord (Erika Slezak). She was also a frequent panelist on the popular game show Match Game, hosted by Gene Rayburn.
