Ferdy is a warlock who is Esmeralda's old beau.
He had a date with Esmeralda, whom he had not seen in centuries. He was nervous because his magic was not what it used to be. Ferdy's Nephew hid in the shrubbery outside the window of Samantha's house so he could give magical assistance to his uncle to make Ferdy's powers seem better than they were.
After Ferdy and Esmeralda discovered their powers were not what they used to be, they rekindled their relationship and got engaged.
