James Westerfield played Mr. Farley, a tavern owner in seventeenth century Salem, in the seventh season episode, "Samantha's Old Salem Trip" (1970).


James A. Westerfield was born on March 22, 1913 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was an American actor of film, television and stage.

He had a motion picture and television acting career from the 1940s to the 1970s. He appeared in many classic television series, including "Daniel Boone" and "The Rifleman" as well as scores of popular films such as "The Magnificent Ambersons" (1942), "On the Waterfront" (1954), "The Absent Minded Professor" (1961), and "True Grit" (1969).

On Broadway he appeared in "Cut of the Axe" (1960), "The Wooden Dish" (1955), "Venus Observed" (1952), "Detective Story" (1949), "The Madwoman of Chaillot" (1948) and "Sing Out, Sweet Land" (1944).

James Westerfield died on September 20, 1971, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. He was 58.
