Mary Sale, born as Mary Anita Loos, was a writer and producer. She was educated at Stanford then began her screen writing career in New York. She moved to Hollywood in 1941 and formed a writing team with her first husband, Richard Sale. She was known for Yancy Derringer (1958), A Ticket to Tomahawk (1950) and Gentlemen Marry Brunettes (1955). She was the niece of novelist Anita Loos.
