Mother-in-Law of the Year is the fourteenth episode of the seventh season of Bewitched and the 214th episode of the Bewitched series. The episode was completed by October 1, 1970.
Plot[]
Endora casts a spell on Darrin to pitch the idea of creating a Mothers-in-Law Day in front of Bernard Bobbins, his client, who is not very happy since he sponsors one of the most popular shows on television without his candy sales increasing well enough. Endora takes the spells one step further when Larry and Bobbins twist the campaign to feature Mother-in-Law of the Year in a commercial spot during the popular show. Of course, she is doing everything it takes to be named Mother-in-Law of the Year. Darrin, who knows that Endora's witchcraft created this ad campaign, cannot help but think that she has an ulterior motive of ruining his career through these spells. Indeed, Endora puts Darrin in difficulty when she does not show up to participate live in the commercial. To compensate for this absence, Samantha turns herself into her mother, forcing Endora herself to appear in front of the cameras during the commercial. What happens next is a series of acts of witchcraft that leave mortals with their jaws dropping.
