Episode Maid to Order

Mrs. Luftwaffe is a maid whom Samantha interviews for a job. She is aggressive and demanding. When Samantha reacts with surprise at her name, Mrs. Luftwaffe says it is "European".

Mrs. Luftwaffe strides right in and details her terms. She does no cooking, washing, ironing or heavy cleaning. She arrives at 9 a.m. everyday. She has every Saturday and Sunday off, leaving at noon on Friday and returning at noon on Monday. Her room must have a color television set and she reserves the right to choose her own wallpaper.

Samantha asks about references and Mrs. Luftwaffe wants to see Samantha's references from former housekeepers. Upon learning she has never had a housekeeper before, Mrs. Luftwaffe says that is bad because she has a rule against working for beginners. However, if Samantha has "possibilities", she may make an exception. Mrs. Luftwaffe will determine Samantha's possibilities by inspecting how clean she keeps her kitchen.

Fed up with this woman, Samantha zaps her kitchen into the worst condition imaginable - sloppy messes on every surface and clutter everywhere. When Mrs. Luftwaffe sees the room, she is aghast.

Trivia[]

The Luftwaffe was the aerial warfare branch of the German Wehrmacht during World War II. After the German Empire's World War I-era army air force, the Luftstreitkräfte, and the Kaiserliche Marine naval air units had been disbanded by May 1920 under the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, the Luftwaffe was reformed on February 26, 1935 and grew to become one of the strongest, most doctrinally advanced, and most battle-experienced air forces in the world when World War II started in Europe in September 1939. After the defeat of the Third Reich, the Luftwaffe was disbanded in 1946.[1]
