Naming Samantha's New Baby is the sixth episode of the sixth season and the 176th episode of the Bewitched series. The episode was completed by August 29, 1969.
Plot[]
Samantha and Darrin have decided to name their new baby Frank Maurice Stephens. They tell Phyllis and Frank as soon as they arrive to visit the new baby. Meanwhile, Maurice pops in, furious that the child does not bear his name first. He wants to discuss with Samantha and Darrin alone without the senior Stephenses present, a task he is able to accomplish with a little witchcraft. Darrin refuses to bend to the will of Maurice, who zaps his son-in-law into the mirror until the situation is corrected to his satisfaction. However, Maurice decides that perhaps a better tact would be to speak to Mr. Stephens, who in fact says he does not want his grandson to bear his name first. Samantha comes up with a compromise name, Adam, who was Maurice's great-grandfather.
