Noam Pitlik played two characters on Bewitched - Serena's suitor Newton in "Samantha's Hot Bedwarmer" (1970), and Ashley Flynn, a suitor whom Samantha rejected, in "Samantha's Pet Warlock" (1970).


Noam Pitlik was an American television director and actor. In 1979, Pitlik won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on the ABC sitcom Barney Miller.

In 1957, he starred in an Off-Broadway production of Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera. During the 1960s and 1970s, Pitlik became a familiar character actor on television, making guest appearances in around eighty different television series including Bewitched. He also appeared in television movies, commercials and some theatrical films such as The Fortune Cookie, The Graduate, Fitzwilly and The Front Page.

Pitlik directed episodes of twenty-nine different television series including Barney Miller, Wings, Night Court, Mr. Belvedere, Off the Rack, Taxi and One Day at a Time. In addition to the Emmy, he also received the Peabody Award and Directors Guild of America Award for his work on Barney Miller.

Personal Life[]

Pitlik was married three times: Jesse Blostein (1967-1970), Linda Hirsch (1974-1977), and Susan Whittaker (1986 to 1999, his death). He died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from lung cancer on February 18, 1999.[2]
