Samantha's Magic Sitter is the fifteenth episode of the eighth season and the 243rd episode of the Bewitched series. The episode was completed by September 23, 1971.
Plot[]
Esmeralda pops in to visit the Stephenses and reveals she is depressed more than ever since she learned that Samantha and Darrin asked Aunt Hagatha to babysit rather than her. She assures them that babysitting Tabitha and Adam is one of the only things she thinks she does well. Coincidentally, Larry drops by to announce that the business dinner with the client Elliott Norton and his wife Martha was canceled because they cannot find a babysitter. Although the Stephenses are very worried about it, Esmeralda offers to babysit the Nortons' teenage son, Ralph. During the evening, Esmeralda does some witchcraft and confesses to the boy that she is a witch. The next day, Mrs. Norton arrives with Ralph, who has a black eye, and says to Samantha that her angel got it after telling the kids at school all the nonsense he believes since he suffered the bad influence of Esmeralda. Darrin soon calls to tell Sam that Mr. Norton has canceled his account. To resolve the situation, Samantha organizes a children's party where Esmeralda performs magic tricks so incredible that the Nortons understand why their son believed them. They apologize, and Mr. Norton agrees to sign the account.
