Samantha's Power Failure is the twenty-fifth episode of the fifth season and the 165th episode of the Bewitched series. The episode was completed by February 10, 1969.
Plot[]
Endora pops in during the middle of the night to warn her daughter. After years of trying to break up Samantha's marriage to a mortal, the Witches Council finally decided to banish the culprit by stripping Sam of her powers. Uncle Arthur and Serena arrive the next day and, despite Endora's disapproval, show their support for Samantha and thus also lose their powers. Half bravado, half carefree, they pretend that they are excited to live as mortals from now on. They find work at a snack bar, but after just one day, they cause such a disaster that they are fired. However, Samantha appears before the Council's members to plead her case and castigate their narrow-mindedness, even comparing them to the judges of Salem during the witch hunt.
