Samantha and the Beanstalk is the first episode of the sixth season and the 171st episode of the Bewitched series. The episode was completed by April 18, 1969.
Plot[]
Because she feels alone and neglected, Tabitha decides to trade places with Jack, the little boy who lived in her fairy tale book, determined to face the cruel giant of the tale. When Samantha finds out what happened, she goes into the book in order to retrieve her daughter and to put Jack back into his story.

- This episode marks the Stephenses' first leap into a fairy tale book.
- This episode was inspired by the well-known fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" which first appeared in England under the title "The Story of Jack Sprigging and the Enchanted Bean" in 1734.
- In 1996, TV Guide ranked this episode No. 60 as part of its "100 Most Memorable Moments in TV History".
