That New Black Magic is the ninth episode of the first and only season of the Tabitha television series.

Portia is a witch and Tabitha's friend from high school. She shows up and becomes interested in producer Marvin Decker who is celebrating his twentieth wedding anniversary. After he resists her advances, she makes him an enchanted velvet coat that turns him into a swinger. Tabitha is determined to save him, so she literally heats him up and he removes his coat.

Portia counters with another spell and begins remaking her "Papa Bear". Remembering that Portia has no sense of humor, Tabitha humiliates her by helping Marvin's wife Lorraine - dressing her up like Portia. Marvin and Lorraine laugh at each other about how ridiculous they look. Portia gets angry, but she cannot undo the spell, so she pops out. The Deckers are back together and Marvin hires a minister so they can renew their wedding vows.

  • The episode title alludes to the song, "That Old Black Magic".

  • The actress who played the minister was uncredited.
