Plot[]
When the earth turns once around the sun,
Let the crone go forth 'til day is done.
Another's form she'll take and her form leave,
From six in the morn 'til six in the eve.
And in this guise if she can secure,
A willing kiss from a mortal pure,
To her will pass the mortal's youth,
To him will pass her age forsooth.
The Crone of Cawdor is a five-hundred year-old witch. She was turned into a hag and forced to live all alone on a mountain peak in Carpathia. From six in the morning to six in the eve, she steals another woman's body and tries to get a kiss from a male mortal so they will switch ages permanently.
The Crone steals the body of a young, beautiful twenty-four year-old woman named Terry Warbell, and makes Darrin her victim. The real Terry Warbell is trapped in the five-hundred year-old crone's body. She appears at the Kravitzes' house and Mrs. Kravitz calls Samantha saying the old woman was "her kind of people". Endora tells Samantha to pop over there and bring the woman to her house.
Terry tells Samantha and Endora that at six in the morning, she was driving in her car when an old woman waved to her and she stopped. Afterwards, she was the old woman and the other woman was driving off in her car. She only remembers her name and her age. Endora realizes she is the Crone of Cawdor. When Samantha was a little girl, it was one of her favorite bedtime stories. Samantha realizes that Darrin is in mortal danger, and if he kisses her, he will become five-hundred years old.
After Samantha finds Darrin at Terry's apartment, he is shocked and accuses Samantha of not trusting him. Samantha insists she trusts him, but not that woman. After Samantha tells Darrin the truth, he does not believe her, and the woman denies it. The clock strikes six and after the last chime, the crone's and Terry Warbell's bodies switch back. Darrin is horrified, and nearly faints.
