Plot[]

Samantha's cousin, Panda, is getting married next weekend in Hong Kong, but Darrin refuses to go or let Sam go to the event alone. In retaliation, Endora enlists Alonzo, a hippie warlock, to do away with Darrin's job so that he is free to attend Panda's wedding with Samantha. At McMann & Tate, where he is hired, Alonzo puts a spell on Larry to love all his far-out campaign ideas, including the slogan "Flurpity Flurp!". With that kind of stuff, Darrin expects some trouble with his conservative client, Mr. Cushman of Monticello Carpets, but quickly guesses that he is dealing with a warlock and calls his wife. When Samantha cannot get through to her mother, the Stephenses decide it is time to start the Darrin Stephens Advertising Agency. Sam zaps furniture in an empty office across the hall from McMann & Tate so Larry thinks Darrin has planned to defect and drag the Montecello Carpets account with him. Invisibly, Samantha watches as conservative Mr. Cushman rejects Alonzo's groovy ideas for his ad campaign. Alonzo also tries to cast a spell on him, but Sam uses her own witchcraft to neutralize Alonzo's. The hippie warlock realizes there is a witch watching them. He removes the spell from Larry and leaves.

Spells[]

  • Alonzo - to make Larry Tate agree with anything he says
Tail of newt and eye of bat,
This is where the spell is at,
Even though it's what he'd hate,
Now all I say appeals to Tate.

Trivia[]

General[]

  • The title is a takeoff from The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit, a 1955 novel written by Sloan Wilson, about the American search for purpose in a world dominated by business, adapted in Nunnally Johnson's 1956 movie of the same title, starring Gregory Peck.
  • Partial remake of Season One's "Your Witch Is Showing".
