Wallace Rooney played a gardener in Serena's Salem retreat in the seventh season episode, "Darrin on a Pedestal"(1970).

Biography[]

Wallace E. Rooney was born on December 29, 1910, in Plattsburgh, New York, to parents David Frederick Rooney and Marguerite D. McGaulley Rooney. He was one of nine children.

He appeared on television and in motion pictures from the 1950s to the [1980s], and is remembered for his role as ‘Bishop Michael’ in The Exorcist (1973). On Broadway, he appeared in the original productions of The Pepper Mill (1937), Who Was That Lady I Saw You With? (1958), and Spofford (1967).

On television, he was known for The Twilight Zone (1959) and The Defenders (1961). Other appearances include Quincy M.E., Lou Grant, Marcus Welby M.D., The Doctors, Gunsmoke, Tallahassee 7000 and The Big Story.

Rooney died on October 10, 1996, in Englewood, New Jersey. He was 85.
