Weep No More My Willow is the twelfth episode of the fifth season and the 152nd episode of the Bewitched series. The episode was completed by July 11, 1968.
Plot[]
Samantha refuses to remove her dying willow tree in their front yard, even though Gladys Kravitz has circulated a petition demanding that the Stephenses cut down the tree. Unable to save the willow by her own magic, Sam asks Dr. Bombay to save it, but she gets caught in the fallout of his incantation, which contained the phrase "weep and weep and weep." Also, whenever she is downwind from the tree, Samantha begins to cry uncontrollably. Darrin thinks that if she cries, it is solely about her sadness over the tree. However, Mrs. Kravitz and Larry believe Samantha's weeping is due to the Stephenses' marriage being in trouble since they both saw Darrin with overly affectionate Elaine Hanson, a beautiful new woman in the neighborhood. When Dr. Bombay tries to undo his spell, he reverses it, and Sam starts laughing instead of crying. Dr. Bombay eventually finds a way to cure both Samantha and the tree.
